 Tunnel ventilation dampers

Smoke control and tunnel dampers for ventilation in enclosed or underground tunnel systems (railway, metro, and road transport)

Tunnel dampers

The heavy-duty tunnel damper for ventilation is a safety component. It is specially designed for underground transport systems to meet the requirements. It was laid out by certification and design agencies.

Tunnel dampers are built to handle tough conditions like high humidity and high heat. They work well in dusty air and hard-to-reach places. Tunnel dampers must be very reliable and perform at their best.

Under normal conditions, tunnel ventilation dampers control airflow in a tunnel. During a fire, it ensures proper ventilation. They also control fire, smoke, and hot gases. These dampers remove toxic fumes and smoke from critical areas. When closed, they also act as a fire barrier.

Tunnel ventilation dampers can serve different purposes. It depends on how the tunnel is used. For metro systems, pressurized air can form in front of a fast-moving train, known as the piston effect.

Tunnel ventilation dampers are used at both ends of the station. Outgoing trains pull air, and incoming trains push air. In emergencies, remote-controlled tunnel dampers keep fire and smoke away from passengers. They ensure a safe evacuation.

We offer rugged, industrial-grade tunnel dampers from Trox, Greenheck, Halton, and Sirocco. Zitron and other brands are also available.
