Description
Tunnel dampers, also known as smoke dampers or fire dampers, are safety devices used in tunnels and underground structures to control the movement of smoke, fire, and air during fire incidents. They are an integral part of fire protection systems in tunnels and play a crucial role in maintaining safety and facilitating evacuation.
The primary purpose of tunnel dampers is to prevent the spread of smoke and fire from one section of the tunnel to another. They are installed at specific locations throughout the tunnel, typically at compartment boundaries or where different tunnel sections intersect. Tunnel dampers can be activated manually or automatically in response to fire alarms or detection systems.
